About me

I am not a typical career politician.

I have experience of the real world, having worked in agriculture, defence, teaching, youth and community work, and the financial sector.

As an active trade unionist I have fought for and supported many people, representing members at a regional and national level.

Whether it is by campaigning against the war in Iraq or working as a trustee of a charity that supports the Arab citizens of Israel I am committed to human rights, civil liberties and peace.

I am as comfortable chatting to a young person on the street corner as I am challenging a government minister in Whitehall. I am tenacious and not easily intimidated.

I will fight for what I believe in. More importantly I will fight to ensure your voice is heard in Europe.
